MANAJEMEN PEMASARAN (STRATEGI PROMOSI)

LATAR BELAKANG

Promosi adalah bagian dari rangkaian kegiatan pemasaran.

Hakikat fungsi pemasaran secara luas

Perumusan jenis produk yang diinginkan konsumen, Perhitungan berapa banyak kebutuhan akan produk tersebut,, Bagaimana cara menyalurkan produk tersebut kepada konsumen, Seberapa tinggi harga harus ditetapkan sehingga cocok dengan kondisi konsumennya, Bagaimana cara promosi/mengkomunikasikan produk tersebut kepada konsumen, Bagaimana mengatasi kondisi persaingan.

LATAR BELAKANG & TUJUAN

Promosi adalah tindakan menginformasikan atau mengigatkan pelanggan mengenai suatu produk/merek tertentu. Promosi Meningkatnya permintaan akan barang dan jasa Meningkatnya penjualan Meningkatnya laba Meningkatnya Nilai Promosi dengan dampak positif yang diharapkan.

LATAR BELAKANG & TUJUAN

Promosi digunakan untuk mendukung berbagai strategi pemasaran lainnya (strategi produk, strategi penentuan harga, dan strategi distribusi). Promosi akan mempercepat penyampaian strategi pemasaran kepada konsumen. Tanpa promosi maka strategi ini akan sulit untuk sampai kepada konsumen. Strategi discount tidak akan diketahui oleh konsumen tanpa promosi. Produk berkualitas diberi harga wajar akan sulit laku apabila tidak dipromosikan sehingga konsumen tahu keberadaannya. Diferensiasi produk tidak akan dikenal baik oleh konsumen jika tidak dipromosikan.

BAURAN PROMOSI (PROMOTION MIX)

Bauran metode promosi yang digunakan perusahaan untuk meningkatkan penerimaan produk-produknya. Empat metode promosi itu adalah:

1.      Iklan

2.      Penjualan perorangan

3.      Promosi penjualan

4.      Hubungan masyarakat

Beberapa metode tsb dapat digunakan tersendiri maupun bersamaan tergantung target pasar yang dikehendakinya.

1.      IKLAN ( Advertising )

Presentasi penjualan yang bersifat non personal yang dikomunikasikan dalam bentuk media atau non media dengan tujuan untuk mempengaruhi sejumlah besar pelanggan. Beberapa alasan memanfaatkan iklan : Meningkatkan citra merek produk tertentu Iklan merek (strategi iklan komparatif dan iklan pengingat), Meningkatkan citra lembaga Iklan Institusional, dan Meningkatkan citra industri Iklan Industri.  

Beberapa alasan memanfaatkan iklan:

1.Meningkatkan citra merek produk.

Jenis iklan yang dimanfaatkan : Iklan merek ( brand advertising ) : Presentasi penjualan nonpersonal mengenai merek tertentu, strategi yang umumnya digunakan : Iklan komparatif ( comparative advertising ) : membujuk pelanggan untuk membeli produk tertentu dengan mendemonstrasikan keunggulan merek tersebut melalui perbandingan dengan merek lainnya. Iklan pengingat ( reminder advertising ) : mengingatkan keberadaan produk.

2.Meningkatkan citra lembaga. Jenis iklan yang dimanfaatkan : Iklan institusional ( institutional advertising ) : Presentasi penjualan nonpersonal mengenai sebuah lembaga. Iklan ditampilkan untuk pencitraan perusahaan secara keseluruhan tanpa memusatkan pada produk tertentu. (misal dikemas dalam layanan masyarakat, misi lingkungan, dll)

3.Meningkatkan citra Industri. Jenis iklan yang dimanfaatkan : Iklan industri ( industry advertising ) : Presentasi penjualan nonpersonal mengenai produk industri tertentu : Kelompok industri / asosiasi perindustrian mengiklankan produk-produknya untuk meningkatkan permintaan produk-produk dalam industri tersebut. (misal iklan hidup sehat dengan mencuci tangan, minum susu, dll)

BENTUK-BENTUK IKLAN :

Nasional Khusus (media khusus), Transportasi, Luar ruangan, Nasional Telemarketing, Surat langsung Nasional, Internasional E-mail, Internet Lokal, Televisi Lokal, Radio, Majalah, Surat Kabar, dll.

2.      PENJUALAN PERSEORANGAN

Penjualan Perseorangan ( personal selling ) Presentasi penjualan perorangan yang digunakan untuk mempengaruhi satu atau lebih pelanggan. Langkah-langkah yang perlu ditempuh dalam pelaksanaan personal selling : 1.Mengenali pasar target, Menghubungi calon pelanggan, Melakukan presentasi penjualan. 2.Menjawab berbagai mecam pertanyaan, Mengakhiri penjualan. 3.Menindaklanjuti penjualan.

1.Mengenali pasar target :

Berfokus pada jenis-jenis pelanggan yang memiliki kemungkinan paling besar untuk membeli produk Berkomunikasi dengan calon pelanggan melalui telepon atau surat Menghubungi calon pelanggan : Menjadwalkan pertemuan dengan calon pelanggan, diusahakan yang berlokasi pada daerah sama dilakukan pada hari yang sama Melakukan presentasi penjualan : Mendemonstrasikan kegunaan dan manfaat produk secara live.

2.Menjawab berbagai macam pertanyaan :

Mempersiapkan diri menghadapi berbagai pertanyaan umum dan memperkenankan calon pelanggan melontarkan pertanyaan Mengakhiri penjualan : Mengakhiri penjualan setelah presentasi, mungkin dengan memberikan potongan harga jika pembelian dilakukan pada saat itu juga. Menindaklanjuti penjualan : Menghubungi pelanggan setelah membeli produk untuk memastikan kepuasannya Menghubungi para calon pelanggan yang waktu itu tidak berminat membeli produk untuk memastikan bila ingin mempertimbangkan kembali keputusannya.

3.Menindak lanjuti penjualan:

Mengelola Tenaga Penjualan Manager penjualan (sales manager) : seeorang yang mengelola sekelompok perwakilan penjualan. Keahlian yang diperlukan bagi sales manager Pengetahuan tentang produk dan pesaingnya Memotivasi para tenaga penjualan (anak buah) dalam melakukan penjualan Mampu menyelesaikan keluhan pelanggan atas jasa yang diberikan para tenaga penjualan dan bila perlu memperingatkan anak buahnya. Mengevaluasi prospek jangka panjang bila perlu memperluas pasar geografis berdasarkan data dari para tenaga penjualan.

  

3.      PROMOSI PENJUALAN

Promosi penjualan ( sales promotion ) : sekumpulan kegiatan yang dimaksudkan untuk mempengaruhi pelanggan. Promosi penjualan dapat menjadi sarana efektif mendorong pelanggan membeli produk tertentu. Beberapa strategi dalam promosi penjualan : 1.Pengembalian uang (rabat) 2.Kupon Sampel ( sampling ) 3.Display Premi ( premium )

1.Pengembalian uang (rabat) :

 Potensi pengembalian uang dari perusahaan kepada pelanggan untuk meningkatkan permintaan produk sebagai ganti dari penurunan harga. Misal : pabrik mobil memberikan cash back dalam periode pembelian tertentu, Kupon Pemberian penghargaan (dalam bentuk kupon) kepada pelanggan yang setia membeli produk/jasa. Mis : Kupon penerbangan gratis bagi penumpang yang telah menggunakan jasa maskapai dalam jumlah tertentu. Dipromosikan melalui media (surat kabar, dll) untuk mendorong pembelian suatu produk.

2.Sampel (sampling) :

Menawarkan contoh produk/jasa secara cuma-cuma untuk mendorong pelanggan mencoba satu merek atau produk baru. Misal : menempelkan sampel dalam produk lain dari satu perusahaan. Dll. Salah satu tujuan sampling menciptakan loyalitas merek (brand loyalty) pada pelanggan dari waktu ke waktu . Display Menempatkan produk khusus disekitar daerah yang strategis (mudah dilihat, mudah diakses dll) Misal : display produk didepan toko, dekat kasir, dll.

3.Premi ( premium ) :

Hadiah yang diberikan kepada pelanggan dengan cuma-cuma yang membeli produk tertentu untuk memberikan daya tarik tersendiri bagi produknya untuk segmen konsumen tertentu. Misal : Hadiah jam tangan / mainan anak bila membeli produk sepatu anak merek tertentu . 

       4.HUBUNGAN MASYARAKAT ( public relation ) 

      merujuk pada tindakan yang diambil dengan tujuan untuk menciptakan atau menjaga citra publik yang menguntungkan. Beberapa manfaat : Menjalin komunikasi yang baik dengan masyarakat umum dan calon pelanggan untuk meningkatkan citra produk atau perusahaan. Mengklarifikasi informasi sebagai tanggapan publisitas yang merugikan Memberikan informasi kepada publik mengenai perusahaan dan produk-produk nya Memberikan inforrmasi lain pada publik untuk kepentingan perusahaan.

Beberapa strategi hubungan masyarakat :

cara-acara khusus : Perusahaan mensponsori acara tertentu untuk mempromosikan produk/perusahaannya. Mengadakan acara tersendiri ( misal : consumer gathering, dll), Rilis berita ( news release ), Pernyataan singkat mengenai sebuah perusahaan yang diberikan oleh perusahaan tersebut kepada media, Mengiformasikan produk/operasinya pada public, dan Mengklarifikasi informasi sebagai tanggapan isu negatif yang merugikan reputasi perusahaan dengan Konferensi Pers ( press conference ) Pernyataan lesan mengenai perusahaan yang diberikan oleh perusahaan tersebut kepada media publik untuk meningkatkan citra perusahaan atau menghapus pengaruh buruk atas isu-isu negatif yang merugikan reputasi perusahaan

Penilaian Kinerja

Penilaian kinerja adalah Suatu sistem yang bersifat formal yang dilakukan secara periodik untuk mereview dan mengevaluasi kinerja pegawai. Penilaian kinerja juga disebut sebagai Suatu cara dalam melakukan evaluasi terhadap prestasi kerja pegawai dengan serangkaian tolak ukur tertentu yang obyektif dan berkaitan langsung dengan tugas seseorang serta dilakukan secara berkala. Penilaian kerja adalah uraian sistematik tentang kekuatan/kelebihan dan kelemahan yang berkaitan dengan pekerjaan seseorang atau sebuah kelompok (Karyawan).

Adapun sasaran proses penilaian kinerja adalah untuk membuat karyawan memandang diri mereka sendiri seperti apa adanya, mengenali kebutuhan perbaikan kinerja kerja, dan untuk berperan serta dalam membuat rencana perbaikan kinerja. Sedangkan tujuan umum penilaian kinerja adalah mengevaluasi dan memberikan umpan balik konstruktif kepada para pegawai yang pada akhirnya mencapai efektivitas organisasi.

Masalah yang Akan dihadapi Perusahaan Apabila Melakukan Penilaian Kinerja yang Salah

-         Membuat Buruk Citra Perusahaan

Kesalahan dalam penilaian kinerja tentu akan berakibat fatal pada karyawan yang bersangkutan. Penilaian yang dilakukan secara subjektif akan merugikan karyawan yang mempunyai kinerja bagus, namun laporan tentang kinerja nya malah sebalik nya. Bisa saja karyawan yang bersangkutan menjadi di pecat. Dan karyawan tersebut akan kecewa dan akan men-cap buruk perusahaan tersebut. Dan lambat laun citra perusahaan juga menjadi buruk dimata masyarakat dan lingkungan sekitar.

-         Menurunkan Produktifitas Perusahaan

Karyawan yang tidak terima dengan kesalahan hasil penilaian kinerja nya menjadi tidak bersemangat dalam bekerja, dan akan menurunkan kualitas kinerja nya karna ia akan berpendapat “Percuma saja aku memberikan kinerja terbaik ku jika mereka tidak menilainya dengan benar” dan tentu saja akan menurunkan produktifitas perusahaan.

-         Perusahaan tidak Berjalan Sesuai Rencana

Sebuah penilaian kinerja yang subjektif akan memberikan gambaran langsung pada karyawan. Dia tahu kalau atasan nya tidak menyukai nya, jadi dia akan bekerja begitu saja tanpa berfikir akan menjalankan tujuan utama dari perusahaan. Karyawan tersebut tau walau dia bekerja dengan sangat baik, tidak akan ada timbal balik untuk nya (spt. kompensasi) karna penilaian atas kinerja nya akan tetap biasa saja.

Maka dari itu perusahaan perlu menerapkan cara baru dalam proses penilaian kinerja, yaitu dengan metode penilaian 360⁰ mengusung mekanisme dimana kinerja seorang karyawan dinilai berdasarkan umpan balik dari setiap orang yang memiliki hubungan kerja dengannya (atasan, rekan kerja, mitra, anak buah, pelanggan). Pendek kata, metode ini mencoba mengumpulkan masukan dari berbagai narasumber di lingkungan kerja karyawan agar tidak ada lagi penilaian kinerja yang subjektif. 


Membuat Perusahaan Menghambur-hamburkan Uang
 Hasil Penilaian kinerja akan menunjukkan bagaimana kinerja dari para karyawan, karyawan yang dinilai kinerja nya kurang bagus atau perlu diperbaiki maka akan diberikan pelatihan. Apabila terjadi kesalahan penilaian kinerja seperti karyawan yang kinerja nya jelek (tidak mempunyai kemampuan) tapi dinilai  bagus dan karyawan yang mempunyai kinerja bagus namun dinilai jelek, maka kemungkinan program pelatihan akan di berikan pada karyawan yang tidak membutuhkan sedangkan karyawan yang membutuhkan pelatihan malah tidak mendapatkan nya. Dengan seperti ini pelatihan tidak akan mendapatkan hasil yang optimal bagi karyawan/kinerja nya dan tidak ada timbal balik untuk kebaikan perusahaan sedangkan program pelatihan itu sendiri merupakan pusat biaya (Cost Center) bagi perusahaan (besar nya biaya yang dikeluarkan perusahaan untuk program pelatihan / training).
